This was a wonderful and sad experience. Together with Susan Stroman, we created this moving and exciting tale of an Army man who falls in love with the leading lady in the famous Takarazuka theatre troupe of Japan. Breathtaking musical numbers by Susan and deeply moving drama. It was a great success at Paper Mill, but odd circumstance kept it from moving on – still haunts me to this day.
