A Journey of Extraordinary Talent, Fearless Producers, and Enthusiastic Audiences
Working abroad was an unexpected gift late in my life. Little did I know that venturing beyond my familiar artistic landscape would open doors to a world of extraordinary talent, fearless producers, and enthusiastic audiences. It was as if a hidden treasure had been unveiled, bringing forth a wealth of experiences I never anticipated.
Enchanting Encounters: Unveiling Artistry and Adoration in South Korea's EMK Production
Among the many remarkable encounters I had in my international journey, one that stands out vividly is my time with EMK Production in South Korea. From the moment I stepped foot into their creative domain, I was astounded by the level of professionalism, dedication, and creativity that permeated every aspect of their work. The team at EMK Production possessed a rare combination of artistic prowess and meticulous attention to detail, which made each production a masterpiece in its own right.
And speaking of audiences, the enthusiasm and warmth they exuded were truly unparalleled. The South Korean audiences embraced the arts with a fervor that was infectious, fueling the fire within me to deliver performances that resonated deeply with their hearts and souls. Their unwavering support and genuine appreciation reminded me why I fell in love with the art form in the first place.
Featured Musicals
I’ve worked for 15 years with this amazing Korean Musical Company – EMK. My 8 shows (two more coming) have returned year after year and are now celebrating their 10th Anniversaries, one after the other. They are all my favorites: the rock opera of Hamlet, Monte Cristo, the extraordinary Elisabeth, Crown Prince Rudolf, Rebecca, the Kopit/Yeston Phantom (a huge success), the epic Marie Antionette and my own creation: The Man Who Laughs which has broken all box office records in Seoul. Coming up Sister Act and The Secret Garden. The musical talent in Seoul – the second largest city in the world – is phenomenal – amazing voices and great actors. The productions are lavish beyond anything we can see on Broadway today.
